Shannon K. Bockelman
I focus my practice on civil litigation with a concentration on medical malpractice, nursing home and long term care defense, professional liability defense, and commercial and business litigation. My representative cases include medical malpractice (emergency, obstetrical, gynecology and surgical care, misdiagnoses, wrongful death, and traumatic birth injury) and long term care facility defense (nursing negligence, nursing home abuse, employee misconduct, Ohio Nursing Home Patient Bill of Rights), general employment matters (wrongful termination, civil rights disputes, discrimination claims), close corporations, shareholder disputes, business contracts, collections, and legal malpractice defense.
I have successfully represented clients in pre-lawsuit matters and also in trial. I try to solve problems before they happen and achieve resolutions without litigation. It’s rewarding to me to help clients avoid crises.
I am always an advocate for my client. A former NCAA Division 1 college athlete, I am competitive and results-driven. I am responsive to my client’s needs and enjoy the often on-going relationships with them.
I have been named an “Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star” in the years 2014 through 2021. I am named one of the Best Lawyers in America for 2019 through 2022, an honor bestowed upon less than 5% of attorneys in the U.S.
