Shannon K. Bockelman  (she/her)

Shannon focuses her practice on civil litigation with a concentration on medical malpractice, nursing home and long term care defense, professional liability defense, and commercial and business litigation.  Her representative cases include medical malpractice (emergency, obstetrical, gynecology and surgical care, misdiagnoses, wrongful death, and traumatic birth injury) and long term care facility defense (nursing negligence, nursing home abuse, employee misconduct, Ohio Nursing Home Patient Bill of Rights), general employment matters (wrongful termination, civil rights disputes, discrimination claims), close corporations, shareholder disputes, business contracts, collections, and legal malpractice defense.

Shannon has successfully represented clients in pre-lawsuit matters and also in trial. Always an advocate for her clients, she is competitive and results-driven. 

Shannon has been named a Best Lawyers in America for the years 2019 through 2023, an honor bestowed upon less than 5% of attorneys in the U.S.  Best Lawyers also named Shannon the Dayton Medical Malpractice Defense Lawyer of the Year for 2023.  In addition, Shannon has been named an “Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star” in the years 2014 through 2021.
