Susan Blasik-Miller

Susan is a trial lawyer with extensive experience defending physicians, hospitals, long term care providers, businesses, and employers in a wide variety of cases. She has tried cases in both state and federal courts throughout Ohio. Susan's peers consistently rank her as one of the best trial attorneys in the state.

In addition to her trial practice, Susan advises businesses and health care professionals regarding minimization of risk. She lectures on the topics of trial advocacy, health care risk management, and professional malpractice liability. Susan also represents physicians and nurses in license investigations and disciplinary proceedings before the Ohio State Medical Board and Ohio Board of Nursing.

Susan is the only woman lawyer in the greater Dayton area who is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a prestigious "invitation only" group in which members are thoroughly vetted by their peers and judges. In addition, Susan was named as Ohio "Super Lawyer" for the years 2006 through 2022, a list jointly prepared by Law & Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine. She was ranked as one of Ohio's top female attorneys for 2008 through 2022 by Ohio Super Lawyers. Susan was named as one of "Best Lawyers in America" for the years 2006 through 2023. Best Lawyers also named Susan the Dayton Medical Malpractice Defense Lawyer of the Year for 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020.

Susan is a leader in many local and state wide organizations. She has served as the chair of the board of directors for the YMCA of Greater Dayton. She has also served as president of The Dayton Bar Association, the Dayton Bar Foundation, the Dayton Lawyers' Club and the Society of Ohio Healthcare Attorneys. She was the first female president of the Ohio Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. 

Susan is the recipient of the 2019 ABOTAAmerican Board of Trial Advocates Professionalism Award. She was chosen for this award due to her exemplary integrity, civility, and professionalism throughout her career as a lawyer, teacher, and counselor.

In her spare time, Susan enjoys cooking, entertaining, reading, running, ballroom dancing, travelling, and spending time with her family.
