ATTORNEY BIO - W. Frederick Fifner

Fred is shareholder attorney having joined the firm in 2005 with thirty years of experience in the insurance defense practice and a two-year clerkship at the United States District Court - Northern District of Ohio.

Fred's work experience includes prior firm management and ownership responsibilities encompassing approximately seventeen years, as well as having an active defense trial practice in diverse areas of the law including primary defense of medical and hospital negligence, legal malpractice, products liability - specifically, medical products, automobile and trucking liability - and construction cases.

He has diverse representation experience during a twenty-five year tenure with multiple United Kingdom and other foreign insurance companies, as well as Lloyd's of London syndicates in the fields of excess claims/programs and reinsurance programs primarily in the areas of products liability and medical or hospital negligence.

Fred's trial experience includes trying catastrophic personal injury cases, death cases, professional malpractice, products liability cases, as well as direct personal involvement in representation of excess and reinsurance interests in catastrophic litigation.

Fred is married with two sons, one of which is an attorney in Columbus. In his free time, Fred enjoys golf, reading and travel.

Fred is also a former multi-year Board of Trustee member and officer of Avon Oaks Country Club in Avon, Ohio, serving as the Board President in 1988-89. Fred is also a thirteen-time golf club champion at Avon Oaks, spanning three decades, as well as a former member of Oakmont Country Club.
